Growing our community

The mission of the Carlington Community Garden is to help those in its diverse neighborhood to cope with food insecurity and to provide an environment that nurtures physical and mental wellbeing. Our garden provides accessible raised garden beds, gardening tools and materials, opportunities for social contact, as well as gardening education and information.

The Carlington Community Garden is all-inclusive, welcoming novice to experienced gardeners of all backgrounds. Our garden is built on unceded Algonquin Anishinaabe territory. To respect the land’s heritage and health, we use sustainable organic gardening and environmental stewardship practices. Additionally, we supply local non-profit organizations with garden fresh produce, as well as providing habitats for beneficial insects and pollinators.
